Mechanical behavior of materials including elastomers, polymers, polymer composites and nanocomposites, and soft tissue; experimental and analytical investigations of the high strain rate response of polymers and polymer composites; nanoscale design, manufacturing, and analysis of tough nanocomposites; the mechanics of growth in soft tissue; tissue engineering of ligament, tendon, muscle and their interfaces; soft tissue biomechanics; knee biomechanics; design of blast and impact resistant materials and structures.
